Josh says we ate rice and milk once a week for 20 years. I don't believe this. In Idaho--yes. I have very few memories of IN. In KY it was fried rice once a week--not rice and milk.

  1. No, I said AT LEAST once a week for 20 years! And like you say, I don't remember eating it at all after Miriam and Erin moved out. Maybe you were trying to punish them, and as soon as they left the house, the cruelty was over?

In reality, when it came to rice dishes, I think I was able to handle rice and milk the best. Sugar helped a lot. 2 parts sugar to to 1 part cinnamon and 1/2 a part rice.

  2. Mom, you and I argued about this recently.we had it once a week in Indiana too. KY not so much you were in college and we all had a night making dinner. You r the one who wanted that rice dish so we didn't have it much.

  3. I don't remember anything about Idaho, and I remember eating milk and rice ALL the time. So we had to have eaten rice in Indiana. And the fried rice was part of Kentucky living.

My favorite part of the milk and rice was the floating cinnamon. It just clumped up to the top of the milk and was oddly entertaining to eat.
